that Francois's parents are indeed Etienne and Michelle
and that he was born in the same general vicinity in 1705.
On September 28 of '98, Gilles sent me an e-mail concerning the birth of Francois in 1725
with a mother identified as Marie Renaud. The fall '98 issue of "Les memoires
de la Societe Genealogique Canadienne-Francaise" in an article by Anne-Isabelle
Martin had stated so. THAT ARTICLE IS INCORRECT.
There was another Etienne Caisse in Seveux, who was married to Marie
Renaud and whose first child was Francois-Philippe Caisse(Quesse). I believe that
the second Etienne was a child of Etienne and Michelle. If we assume he was about 20
when he had his first child in 1725, then he would have been born around 1705. We
know that Etienne and Michelle were married before 1704(Remi's birth), so this is a
distinct possibility. Our Francois was definately not the one born in 1725, but
probably was that child's uncle. |
